New Zealand Stores articles

Mighty Ape

21 Feb

Ha, the lovely ape. It’s like amazon for NZ. You can buy DVDs, Games, Hardware, Books etc.

Sure it’s not as big as amazon but the choices are massive.

Great store. Good prices, too.

EB Games

21 Feb

The place to go when you are looking for gaming joy. They got it all.
They also sell and buy second hand title, that’s sometimes pretty neat. Normally overpriced though.

Beware of release dates though. Just because you can buy a game in america and germany doesn’t mean it’s released in NZ, too. Normally it’s like 3-5 months after the rest of the world. German titles are very hard to get.

Big titles are normally faster in the store.

Dick Smith Electronics

21 Feb

Like a little MediaMarkt or Saturn. Little is the keyword. But sometimes they really DO have what you are looking for.

But the employees are really nice and you can make good jokes like “Hey DICK .. Smith Employee, can you help me?”

Gets tons of bonus points for not having the fucked up New Zealandish return policy. If they sell you shit, you CAN return it, THANKS!

Photowarehouse

21 Feb

Great store to get camera or camcorders and accesoires. Fair prices, relatively competent employers.

Beware as always in small stores, refunds are a random thing and a note behind the counter saying: Make sure you like what you buy.

Some crap like this. I fucking hate the return policy in this country, shove it.

the warehouse

One of the big stores. Buy clothes, tools, games, toys, food and drinks.
But rest assured, they won’t have what you are looking for.
